We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting a bundle of joy February 2014! We could not be more excited and are so grateful for all of the well wishes and love from our family and friends. It is so exciting to enter the 2nd trimester because you get to finally share the news! The first three months have been pretty good considering some of the stories I have heard from friends and family. I had a little morning sickness around weeks 6-7. One day was so bad that through tears on the bathroom floor I told my husband that we may have an only child. Other than that I have just been exhausted (apparently growing a baby is hard work). I could hardly eat in the beginning and then I was starving. I was 90% Vegan when we got pregnant, but I started eating dairy my first trimester because all I could stomach were carbohydrates and cheese. Weird coming from a girl who lived on salads and veggies. I'm trying to add my greens back in slowly (green juice is a savior). No major cravings yet, but I'm loving chocolate almond milk and anything pineapple!!!
For someone that controls everything they put into their body (internally and physically) it's hard to loose control and just listen to what your body wants/needs. I previously had a low intake of carbohydrates on a daily basis and worked out 5 days a week. Now I live on bread and crackers and maybe get a workout in 2x a week (on a good week). So I have been working on letting it all go and trying to just enjoy this amazing time.
So here's hoping the 2nd trimester brings me more energy! We have a healthy baby growing big and strong and that is what is most important.
