My Natural Skincare Regimen

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

I have always been a stickler when it comes to my skincare routine. I don't know where it came from, but as early as my pre-teen years I have been pampering my skin. Naturally, as a teenager I wasn't always using the best or most expensive products on my skin, but in my 20's I became more aware of my health and what I was putting into and onto my body. Natural skincare has come a LONG way over the past several years. I get the results I need to help prevent aging and keep a youthful glow without the concern of what questionable ingredients I am putting on my delicate skin. I'm not loyal to just one brand of skincare because I think every brand makes a couple of really amazing all star products. Although, I must say that in the past several months I have been having a skincare love affair with One Love Organics and I'm also really loving Tata Harper Skincare (FYI: they are a real splurge at a higher price point). Check out my current daily natural skincare regimen below!

Cleanse: One Love Organics Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser. This cleanser takes the day off (and my makeup) without striping my skin. It smells amazing and is so gentle on my skin. Next time I am going to try out their cleansing oil because I have heard so many wonderful things about it.

Prevent: Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin C Serum. I have used a lot of serums, but what makes this one stand out from the rest is how hydrating and brightening it is. My skin has never looked so good.

Hydrate: One of my beautiful friends has created her own line of skincare and makeup, and I like to think she had me in mind when she created this fantastic moisturizer. Erin's Faces Organic Silk Cream Moisturizer is my go-to moisturizer day and night. It's light enough to layer under sunscreen yet heavy enough to wear at night.

Eye Care: Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to eye cream. It's useless to me if it doesn't hydrate. The skin around your eyes is so thin, so you have to pay extra special attention in treating it with TLC. This balm is like no other. It is a waterless consistency that melts in your fingers tips as soon as you rub your fingers together. The size of the product is unreal. I think I can easily go a year on this one little bottle.

Treat: I'm a sucker for a good face mask especially if it's a treatment. Tata Harper created the ultimate Resurfacing Mask that reduces pore size, hydrates, exfoliates and repairs the skin. My skin glows for days after I use it.  I am also loving her Repairative Moisturizer, but it's a big splurge at $100 a pop!

Exfoliate: For daily exfoliation during these dry winter months I am loving my Yes to Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub. It's a very light exfoliation for daily use and I love the citrus smell.

Lip Care: Don't forget about your lips! It is so unsexy to have dry/chapped lips and this Korres Guava Lip Butter is the only lip balm that keeps my lips from drying out. I keep one in my handbag, night stand and car.

Body: You should coat your body in lotion from your neck down to your toes everyday and night, therefore you should absolutely love your body lotion. I can't get enough of this Jason's Cocoa Butter Hand And Body Lotion and it has also kept my growing baby bump stretch mark free.

  1. is there a natural sunscreen you'd recommend for the face? Something light and not too greasy?

    1. I normally would have included a sunscreen. I have been using Josie Maran SPF, but unfortunately she just recently took it off of the market...sooooo sad! So I am researching new natural sunscreens. Ill keep you posted on the blog!

  2. My sister and I infuriated making this, however we have had struggle getting the rock crystal to dissolve. We bought our Vit C quintessence from Vitamin Cottage. We put some on our face and it was very grainy. Is there a unambiguous brand we had better try?

Also if we tried space boiler the product in the heat up would it destroy the benefits of the serum? Vitamin C Serum for men

    Thanks
